Html5 Builder Xe3 Update 1
Otherwise, this seems to be an unexpected condition. That is, getting anerror about a read only transaction when the transaction is indeed notread only. And, more details are needed to know how to reproduce thisunexpected condition.Well, I have a database file developed few years ago with IB SMP2009 that runs with a C Builder application.
Over the years this database file was optimized and complemented using new versions of InterBase XE3. Recently I did two deployments, one using Desktop version because there is not multi-users and other using Server version. In the last one is where I had the error message when I tried to made an update using IBConsole.
InterBase XE7 was installed and registered without any problem, then I open it, then add the database file, then open the database file, then open Interactive SQL and try following update sentence: update 'PRODUCTOS' BN set BN.' PREPARACION' = FalseOn my develop environment (C Builder XE and InterBase XE3) this update works well.Regards,Patricio Cerda. Otherwise, this seems to be an unexpected condition. Sriram Balasubramanian wrote:Patricio,IBConsole in InterBase XE7 has changed the 'default transaction mode'; it is set to 'read only' transaction by default. If you are planning to execute UPDATE statements from IBConsole's SQL window, please change you transaction mode before running any UPDATE.In the SQL window, select menu item Transactions Options. Change 'Access mode' to 'Write', and 'Isolation level' to 'Concurrency'; and, save it. Any further launch of SQL window will respect this setting.Best wishes,Sriram.
