Victoria 4 For Genesis 2

Posted on  by admin

There have been a couple of discussions recently on the Daz Forums about converting Victoria 4/Michael 4 poses to Genesis 3 figures. There are at present two ways to do this. Just putting on the pose and adjusting manually doesn't really work because G3 has more bones than Generation 4.You can do it in a way that is a little more time-consuming but costs nothing usingTo do this you load a V4 and a G3F or G3M into the scene, apply a pose to V4, and apply the script to V4 to get it to transfer properly to G3. Then if you want to retain the converted pose you can save it back to library. This also comes with a free script you can use to set up conversions that it does not include (such as M4 to V7, G1 to G3, etc) and some other nice scripts for mirroring and applying poses selectively. This is fabulous if you have one pose you want to use, but it's going to take a really long time if you have, for example, all of Structure/jlk's (which I do) and want to convert them all.The other way is to spend $34 (if there is no currently applicable sale) and get and by Zev0 and Draagonstorm. The strength of this is that you can then batch convert. That is, you can target the V4-G2 program to a folder and convert everything in it in seconds, then target the output folder with the G2-G3 program and convert all of those, too.

Genesis 2 4 25 Commentary

Zev0 and Draagonstorm are deservedly popular artists whose stores go on sale regularly. I also already have their G2-G3 script and can vouch for its robust and easy-to-use nature; I have the V4-G2 version in wishlist myself now (somehow I missed it on release!) because I love those Structure M4 sets and I want them back!Free or paid, the hands won't be perfect, but hand poses for G3 are numerous and cheap.

Or you can use on the hands, and then go to the Pose Controls and pose the hand in a couple of seconds, which is what I usually do for promotional images. Well, there's this, I haven't tried it:Or for doing it the hard way, which I tested with Jeremy (NOT a beginner option, if you don't already know ERC freezing and transfer utilty I would not try it):Load M4.Load G3.Dial in the morph you want to use on M4 so you don't lose track of it.

Right-click on it and choose 'Favorite-Add To Favorites.' Go to M4 in Scene Tab and click the little top right button. Choose edit-rigging-convert to weight mapping and 'general.' This will take a long time. Wait. When it's done start transfer utility.

Icon looks like an arrow pointing up and right. For 'from' choose M4.For 'target' choose G3, and under that choose Clone and Michael 4. You will need to own a purchased clone of M4 for G3.

Female

I think Valzheimer sells one.Now under that expand the options. Uncheck everything but Morph Targets. To the right, in the options of that, choose 'favorites and sub-components.' Uncheck 'fit to source figure.' Click accept. Now the morph appears on G3, but in its component bits (Jeremy hip, jeremy right calf, etc.).Right-click on one of the component morphs and choose edit mode.Select all those morphs using shift click.Right-click and choose set min/max value and set it to 1. Now the morphs are on.Now right-click again and choose ERC freeze, then Create, and when the Create box pops up put in FBMJeremy and accept, then accept again. Now you have the Jeremy morph on G3 with a control dial that controls those sub-morphs. File-save as-scene asset-morph assets and save ALL OF IT NOT JUST THE CONTROL DIAL.Or you can export G3 to obj with all the jeremy morphs and use it to create a single morph that way, alternately.

For hands and feet you could also you Slosh's product called Handy Dandy available at Daz3D, if the hands or feet go wonky between the V4/M4 to G2F/G2M stage. If the resulting G2F/G2M is corrected at that stage with handy dandy for the hands and feet quirks, you can then safely go to the G2-G3 conversion scripts with confidence. At least that is how I did my M4 conversions recently with the Zev0/Draagonstorm products. And I have several thousand products to convert to G2 and G3 from earlier Generation 3 and Generation 4 characters.

I've actually asked Draagonstorm to make a Generation 2 & 3 Pose converter script since there are some amazing poses which were made for Michael 2 and Michael 3, and especially David 3 which cannot be converted with the Generation 4 to Genesis 2 scripts.SickleYield any suggestions on that?Hugs to you.
